  • Devil’s advocate-- the Industrial Revolution has led to heaps of the ‘prosperity’ we moderns have enjoyed, while effectively destroying our future via various forms of pollution, directly because too few heeded caution and considered the importance of sustainability.

It became all about money at almost every level, and unchecked capitalism is ultimately a tyrant, as we’re now discovering via late-stage capitalism. While the rich get richer and fascism rises around the world, of course.

  • Just leeching content from reddit will never get Lemmy anywhere.

I recently leeched some interesting post material from Reddit, shamelessly reposted it here, and it seemed to get lots of appreciation and a healthy amount of commentary.

I wasn’t acting as a bot, but does it matter? Most of the content’s probably not original to Reddit, anyway. Maybe using a bot in conjunction with hand-picking interesting material is a good idea, y’know?

  • Most fruits and veggies IME tend to dry out more than rot, unless perhaps you live in a very humid area. My experience with forgotten avocados is that they’ll shrink and get wrinkled, while becoming inedible inside, but won’t be problematic.

Tomatoes can definitely get gross and leaky if forgotten. Potatoes when rotting can actually produce poisonous gas, so watch out for that. Kind of a Solanaceae (Nightshade) theme there, I guess.
