An export ban would keep US prices down, but also cause global prices to rise faster and higher. That’s not great for both the wars against Russia and Iran - the rest of the world might decide it doesn’t make sense to cooperate with the US anymore if the US isn’t providing them with fuel. Then on top of that it might trigger a global recession; diesel is the blood of logistics networks.

i dunno. the europeans are making the case for how many times american brainworms will make you shoot yourself in the foot and it makes me suspect that the world will just keep staying the the us empire’s side because it feel familiar or right.
