So my username on reddit was u/IAmUser1234567 I had 17k+ Karma, i didn’t do anything they just banned my account. Now i guess they have created a digital fingerprint or marked my ip address, because if i create a new account it gets banned almost instantly.
I am loving lemmy(using Voyager on my android phone) so much. Reddit anyways now just contains shity cringe content, it is becoming like insta, I am happy to join lemmy family :)

Also, when a bunch of people left reddit 3 years ago, it seemed like they flooded it with bots to pad the numbers. In any case welcome! 😁 I’ve also been here (in some form or another) since the API drama.
I would recommend that you create a couple of accounts on different instances (Piefed/Fedia etc.) because, although it’s a lot better these days, sometimes they can suddenly go offline. Not all together usually, but it’s nice to still have some way in when that happens.
I wish we could actually migrate our accounts with all of our data…
Lost my original Kbin account when it went down and now have the rest of my posts split between Dbzer0 and Sopuli, so it would definitely be useful if accounts could be combined and moved between servers somehow.
What do you do when that happens? Been here for a bit and have not had to deal with that but I would like to be prepared.
Lemmy let’s you backup your subscriptions/blocks/ and I think saves to be imported.
You can have posts on here? Anyways thank you i just realized some people have way more subscriptions and blocks than I do.
I have very few blocks but many subscription. I browse scaled primarily and find a lot of interesting comms. Many are also from deceased instances that I am I not ready to unsubscribe from. I hope it doesn’t take up resources pinging things that will. Never respond back.
I understand you weren’t being serious but please do considering posting. The bar for entry here is low. I was a serial commenter on reddit back in the fay but rarely posted, but here on Lemmy I have made an effort to share more directly. I have about a 1:10 ratio.
If choosing a community is ever the barrier there is !nowhereelsetoshare@sh.itjust.works for that purpose (disclosure: I created it)
That’s a lot of effort for social media. Who has time for alts?
