Man this place sucks
Why should I leave? They’re the ones who suck. I’m not giving any ground

No thanks, I’m beyond tired of LLM based “AIs”
I need that page loading animation back
Interesting to see one of the founders feeling the same way I and so many other people do about these issues. This world we live in, man.
I continue pulling the plug on Google
Yesterday. My kids and I like to imitate awkward game/MMO character movements so there’s a lot of random jumping.
Agree, but also think it might kind of be a part of what makes it great. Didn’t go so long to get ruined. Gave us just enough to love it and imagine what could have been. Everyone gets to have their own fantasies of where it might have gone next.
Man, I’m just glad to finally see someone else saying they have issues with Fedora. Everyone seems to think it’s amazing and stable but it never lasts more than a few months for me. I don’t do any tinkering or hacking or anything, just web browsing, Python coding, some light gaming with Steam. Arch and Debian both hold up great for me doing the same stuff.
I love ncdu
for seeing where all my storage is being taken up.
The first time I used wget I felt so awesome. I was grabbing some extra music files I think it was for Ur-Quan Masters.
The audiobook narrator for these is fantastic, too. I’ve listened to them multiple times. I love the exploration of the personality drift and eventual entire society of replicants. Judging by the typical comments I see, I’m in the minority for loving the parts with Archimedes as much as the rest. I get why some people want to get back to the more sci fi stuff though.
Not sure why you got downvoted, assuming you were just pointing out how interesting it is that people in tech tend to be more critical of tech and aware of the issues it can have or cause

I’m so glad to be seeing small and indie web stuff so often lately. I never played with gopher and Gemini. Today might be the day.
We had Shufflepuck Cafe on our Macintosh Plus. Loved that game, but also infuriating
Similar boat. It helps to have someone who is willing to (kindly and patiently) call you out on it, with the understanding that it’s what you want them to do. Good luck, stay strong and be confident that acknowledging the issue and wanting to change are huge steps you’ve already taken
