Reddit sucks
In the beginning though many I’ve ruins didn’t fill much of a purpose. When TV was invented maybe a handful of programs were available. People still had more use for radio. Slowly it became what it is today.
I get it though. The middle phase sucks because everybody is money hungry. Eventually things will fall into place.
Not sure how far back you’re talking but for a VERY long time they have been and continue to be in the business of what feeds the machine.
Why do you think we have computers in our possession 24/7? Not because we wanted it, but because they told us we wanted it and it enabled us to be available to feed the machine 24/7. You can work more. You can buy more.
Social media? Feeds the machine.
Television? Feeds the machine.
Cars? Feeds the machine.
Phones. Telegraphs. Fucking lightbulbs.
All used to feed the machine.
It actually makes a lot of sense. AI is a good use case for case management. The problem is how much you depend on it without human intervention, but even humans fuck up, especially if they’re following the same rules and processes that the AI tool would. The AI tool just gets through cases faster, so in theory you can sus out root causes sooner.
And how easily we give up our rights
Anybody who thought their privacy was ever secure on social media platforms is incredibly naive
So you’re saying it’s good at anticipating accidents haha
Yeah it’s scary to think about. There should be laws though that you’re still 100% at fault if you were not driving during an accident. I imagine another issue with FSD is government having a backdoor into your car to immobilize you or whatever they want. Part of me is in favor of that, but of course that a huuuge responsibility that can be abused.
Makes sense. There were sensors alll over that thing.
Are you on LinkedIn? You should be if you’re not and make your profile strong. Add all of the key terms that a recruiter would be looking for for roles you’re targeting.
Reach out to recruiters directly and message them about any opportunities they are aware of. Some may be contract but may lead to a perm gig.
Good luck!
The article doesn’t mention anything about where the cars will be driving in Austin, but I reluctantly took a Waymo from the airport in Phoenix to a hotel and it did really well. Even slowed down for a guy who was jaywalking.
It ended up taking longer than expected because apparently they’re either require or trained on different roads than you would normally take (e.g. no highways). It did such a good job, though, that I ended up taking a Waymo a second time while there.
All this to say that it may not be ready for all roads, but is ready for some. Definitely still scary though.
Apparently reading doesn’t make you smart or enable you to engage in meaningful discourse.

This comment is so pretentious and yet so dumb. Nice job. Capitalism only works if people are spending money. Fact. There’s no getting around that. If people elect to spend money on goods they don’t need from companies they know are harming people then they are responsible. Should they not be “Luigied?”
But if the citizens didn’t fund the company’s greed, they wouldn’t exist. Plenty of examples of things people don’t need that they continue to buy, and support unethical business operations leading to harm.
I know about retro pugs. I’m only against owning snub-nosed pugs.
But they have to be rich, right? I’m interested in the criteria.
What about a nation that supports a company who produces goods that allow the company to make profit, and the production of the goods harms people’s lives (e.g. pollution or poor working conditions in the production country). Somebody should police that nation. Maybe bomb the nation?
Lying about emissions is violence? Like chemical warfare?
Yeah def what I was thinking. It’s strange that instead of admitting to this they’re just rolling with it saying it’s based off something they read.
