The fediverse has so little content that it makes it hard to imagine anyone paying for something that gives you less content and participation than any unregistered lurker gets from something like reddit for free

too scared. i very recently spent five years in austin and i learned that the 1) liberal texans are only liberal compared to other texans 2) they readily and easily shrug their shoulders in accepting defeat from institutions that they already know are racist, homophobic, sexist, and classicist and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING else and 3) will fight and report you to the authorities from those same institutions if you try to do ANYTHING else; my favorite examples are of californians disabling driver-less taxis with traffic cones and new-mexicans pelting short term rentals with eggs and bologna, meanwhile liberal austinites will literally call the cops on you if do either of these (ask me how i know).

could have fooled me; my biggest issue with the fediverse is the lack of content and reddit’s content just keeps getting bigger and bigger by the day.

fortunately it works for me since i want to detox myself from all social media and the fediverse has so little content to i’m done after 30/45mins per day; in fact, i can still spend hours on reddit unregistered lurker and get more content every day than the entirety of the fediverse since its creation, combined.

when it gets stuck on something like that, it’s because of a hardware related change; did you update or modify your bios recently or change hardware drivers?

nearly half of computer-related engineers/developers/technicians/analyst who refuse to believe that this and other similar programs that snowden revealed on purely ideological grounds is a huge source of fuel for my misanthropy; the fact that they tend to be the most successful and/or well paid in my field (software development) is a several fold bigger source.
