Lempiebin?
Lempiebin?
I like that one, but it makes me think of agrivate or agriculture
Bulletinfedi?
Forumverse gets my vote out of the listed options.
Currently using harmony player for streaming/discovery and metro for my locally stored music if I don’t have any cellular signal.
Default lemmy ui is atrocious (in my oh-so-humble opinion), though some people do like it.
I’d recommend Photon or Alexandrite
Maybe I’m missing something. I understand and agree with the concept of limiting or eliminating our reliance on algorithms for content recommendations. This seems like a different issue though, is it not?
I wonder what’s the reasoning against it? Seems like a no-brainer…
Right now I’d choose Lemmy. Summit on mobile and photon on desktop.
Piefed is a close second, but still has a ways to go. Honestly, I could see it surpassing Lemmy soon.
I haven’t driven Mbin too much, but it’s pretty neat conceptually. I wouldn’t count it out if you want to be able to microblog from the same platform. Kind of novel, but I found the experience to be disconjointed overall.
It’s great seeing intuitive uses of the software more regularly, thanks for sharing!
Uh, what’s a flophouse?
Ok, I had to resubscribe after seeing this one. Lol
Cool, hope it’s something amazing!
One less finger, or one extra finger? 🤔
I’ve had some luck getting some of my people to switch over by asking them to switch as a favor to me specifically (if they want to of course… And they can always just not use it if they end up not liking it).
Asking them in a more direct way like this seems to work, even if there’s some reluctance at first. I tell them that it helps me out because I can also send stuff to them on my computer, which is true. Then there’s the fact that I just really like all of the extra features it has (it’s just a really good chat app in general), emoji replies, reply quotes, and read receipts to name a few.
If they need any other reasons, the last things I tend to get into are the privacy/security aspects.
Boom, all of a sudden they’re using something better, and even though they’re probably still using those other (shit) apps, at least I don’t have to. You have to start somewhere, right?
Wow, that’s incredible!
but you fuckers still got a boat though, even if it is leaking a little…
True.
I’d recommend curating the ‘subscriptions’ feed first (also set it as the default), and then only browse the ‘all’ feed selectively.
Glad to help!
