I was able to follow what you said with another comments yt video. I appreciate it. The LLMs were more of just a “explain this to me in simpler terms” or “why doesn’t this work” just cause I was tired after working most the time. it helped but it was also months ago with limited time to record much.
That’s really solid actually. Arguably how tedious was that setup? I’m certainly curious.
I was just reading about it in the other comments YouTube video. Had a GitHub page that said it was explicitly not recommended too. I can see why now after working on it last night. If it was in professional use setting this would be horrendous.
Oh shit this is very similar! I forgot about this dudes GitHub. That was my guide through last time. Thank you thank you for this!
I’m mostly worried of any of the network traffic being leaked since I’m not particularly sure how to have a vpn work on just the lxc containers and manage to connect to the zfs shares

6·4 months agoHaving been someone who was once fully invested in it all and now being here, they likely don’t care or don’t understand enough to care. It’s like when the Arabian billionaires purchased pokemon go from niantic. Most of the platforms gamers didn’t care then ( at least those I know who still play that is) since the digital doesn’t yield the physical difference people (surface level folks) thinks it makes.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•FFS Plex, the server is on my local networkEnglish
32·4 months agoI’d like to personally, however with my home environment being Apple TV device the plex application is fantastic. And sharing my libraries with other friends sharing back with me is pretty great. Does jellyfinn have that ability? I’ve seen about an app that’s supported but I’m not sure about it, the Apple TV app that is.

1·4 months agoI’ve been getting deeper in to how this can go over the summer. I’ve done plex for a good few years at this point, but i’ve got this now: -Ubuntu bionic -Dockge (for easy rebooting when i’m just not feeling the CLI) -Arr stack -Gluetun (VPN for stack) -Firefox (LAN access only, no other access from gluetun) -Radarr -Sonarr -qbittorrent -prowlarr -Immich -Plex
A few I’ve tried but can’t get to work on docker-compose yet: -searxNG -Heimdall (just can’t get the graphs I wanna see for the systems processes) -homarr (not bad, just same as heimdall)
I wanted to cut over to proxmox from ubuntu just to have more server efficient since i’m not running ubuntu server. However I’m still fairly new to this and the cut over from docker desktop and docker run to docker-compose was a lot for a bit, so it’ll still be on the list, but probably when I upgrade this old cpu (i5 6500) to something newer since this is an old thinkcenter. I’m hella open to any suggestions anyone’s got

Oh boy I can finally talk about this! I had one of them and I can say proudly that baby will keep on chugging. That was my test bench and prod server all in one for media and learning containers. Solid workhorses and stable as hell. Def recommend if you can go to a salvage place to get the used older ram, if you can get so lucky.
