Oh dude no, it’s a headache! I wrote to them once and they said it was an issue with the balance plate/sensor.
Apparently the quick fix is to click the bottom center of the trackpad 5x, then test it (I do so by clicking top corners). I find it hit and miss haha. Going inside, you can adjust the placement of that plate, but I never found that useful.
Did you notice if it seemed to improve a bit with time?

I can speak to longevity - I have a gen 1, batch 2 (humble brag?) - and absolutely love it. Got me to switch over to linux, and the quality is there. Minor gripe about the trackpad sticking intermittently, and had to have the hinges replaced (both known issues, resolved). 10/10 great laptop
This may have missed the point of your asking, but I wrote it so I’m posting it lol my apologies if it’s not what your looking for:
I’m gonna advise a thought on what I had to do. I love being informed. But I reached such a level of depression and anxiety of the future that I had to do something.
So I stopped. I told myself it doesn’t have to be forever, just a break. Took about 2 weeks of much less news consumption, forced myself to be brain-dead as much as possible. It led to a few conclusions:
The world turns. No matter what you do, ppl do insane shit. Taking a break for you doesn’t mean stupid shit stops happening, but it makes it less the center of your world. You don’t have to own it.
Life is about a lot more than what’s going on in the news cycle. I have friends who never look at a newspaper, and they’re far happier than I am overall. Just a thought.
The kicker - I still knew what was going on. The media milks a big story over days and weeks, so you can easily come back to your favorite website and pick it up quickly. Haven’t missed anything that I could have changed regardless haha.
A great comment I saw a while back: put down the phone for a few days, and you realize it’s still 2005 outside. The world is boring, but blessedly so. For your health, let it be 2005 for a bit.
Now, I just read the headlines unless something really grabs my attn. Reading the news makes many problems that aren’t yours a you problem. Overall, I’ve realised it’s the little things that make life better. Do the little stuff - help in your community, give the homeless guy a fiver, call your mom, ask the cashier how her day is (and genuinely care about her answer). If you’re up for it, maybe then undertake some of the actions other ppl are suggesting about political action, volunteering, etc.
You can’t pour from an empty cup, my friend. Take care of you first and the world becomes a little better ☺️

I know this is a gaming thread, but I bought a gen 1 framework laptop 13 DIY when they came out and all I can say is: buy it. The form factor of a MacBook but upgradeable and repairable. They now have AMD options that work with my gen 1. Excellent idea, great execution, can’t say enough good things lol
In a similar vein, I went with a Framework laptop. Expensive, but 100% modular and repairable, with an in-house secondhand marketplace. I have a gen 1, batch 2, and the thing is stunningly manufactured for a startup. Can’t say enough good things. Happy hunting!

I can add that I’ve built a career on rubbing elbows with the right ppl. You don’t have to be the best, you just have to be likeable and decently competent. As bad as it sounds, people relations first, productivity second.
I’m not the type to slum it for a paycheck, but I’ve found that good perceptions are everything. Balance technical ability with relationship management and you’ll be golden.
Oh, and I still regularly struggle with imposter syndrome, despite the above…
This is the best advice I’ve adopted recently for exactly the same perception. Focus on your life, maybe do your best to have a positive impact on the things that worry you. Decrease your engagement with the news cycle - know what’s going on, but only as much as you can handle without it affecting your mental health.
Learn to trust that things will be ok, even if you’re not entirely convinced they will. It may not solve the problems, but your sanity matters too
I am utterly shellshocked by how much I’m enjoying Helldivers 2. It’s been a very long time since I’ve daydreamed about going home to play but I just can’t wait to blast some bugs with friends most days. It’s like I’m 10 again
