Same reason they hate wikipedia.
Same reason they hate wikipedia.
Ngl, that’s kinda hilarious (and sad at the same time)
OF creators have to go through a rigorous process to verify themselves. I can’t imagine reddit doing anything close to that, but I might be wrong. If not, it will be a playground for scammers and stolen content.
You have my respect. I’m guessing all the mods with a tad of integrity left during this time, leaving their subreddits closed
It was wild how spineless most of them were when the API stuff happened, and it showed how attached they are to their little bubble of power.
And some of them acted even more pathetic with virtue signaling.
Like the r/de mods allowed memes for a full week in “protest”. Such rebels… they sure showed spez with that one…
They look like they have been on the streets for 10 years. Turns out stainless steel isn’t all that stainless.
I’m already less and less on reddit except for a few nieche subs. The day old.reddit is gone will be the last time I visit that site.
I agree. Especially with how some moderators talk down to users, they sure licked those boots stomping on them to not lose their reddit powers.
Looking at you, r/de who’s “protest” was to “allow memes” for a week.
There is no chance in hell any of these cowards would stand up for their community. The ones that did are already here.

Even if this group shuts down completely, all this does is waste twitter’s money while it also tells advertisers to stay the fuck away from ever do any business on Twitter.
I just read something about them trying to paywall some subs. That would not be a step, bit be a giant leap for a lot of people to abandon that shit hole.
Could be a new gameshow: Boomer or Toddler
It was sad to see that mods of a lot of subs had no backbone and reverted to normal after a few days of virtue signaling. However, not unexpected. Respect to the ones that didn’t give in to preserve their “power”.
Looking forward to the first trial where a girlfriend AI is going to be called as a witness.
The change had been expected, with Musk tweeting in August: “This is coming from me directly. Will greatly improve the esthetics.”
Yeah… we figured it’s his doing, since it’s a terrible decision.

But charging it is easy enough?
In its dismissal of the broadband industry’s claims that itemizing fees would be too confusing for customers and too burdensome for providers
Sounds like there is a lot of shady shit in there that people will ask about if they had to list it.
I used to buy logitech mice, but this is reason enough for me to never buy their products again.
Reddit’s equivalent of a Pizza party.
For AI processing, I don’t think it would make much difference if it lasted longer. I could be wrong, but afaik, running the actual transformer for AI is done in VRAM, and staging and preprocessing is done in RAM. Anything else wouldn’t really make sense speed and bandwidth wise.
