I feel you. A few weeks ago I finished a 450GB torrent that had like 5 seeders all super slow and wouldn’t even connect most of the time. It took over 7 month in total.
I typed “Despecialized” into ext.to and it’s the top result with 116 seeds.
Like a phone call? Group voice chats?
Yep, or even a watch party (group voice chat with someone sharing his screen). You can’t do that on forums or lemmy.
Not sure about twitch, I only use that to watch streams, never to do streams.
Voice chat and screen sharing
Run the script essentially once a year or so when major updates come along.
I’ve set it up in the task sheduler as a “on boot-up” task. Have never bothered with it through multiple updates.
Yep. It’s not like unverified drives won’t work, they’ll just show an orange warning symbol and disable some minor features.
Yup, been using that from the start, since none of the 20TB drives were “verified” when I bought them.
It’s a bit annoying that you have to do that, but ultimately a non-issue.
Hosting your own instance is not option for the majority of people.
So basically the electoral college? No thanks.
Just sort by new.
You can block the instance if you don’t like it.
Complaining about bans for posts on lemmy.ml is like complaining about birdshit on your car when parking under a tree.
It’s there now, after op edited it 27 days ago :P
I honestly don’t understand why so people think that lemmy would somehow be fundamentally different when it comes to moderation. People are pretty much the same anywhere.
No, just alternative urls.
I might be a problem if you are logged out of your plex account while offline. But I didn’t have to login for years on either of my clients. You can also give special access to local IP addresses on LAN to ignore authentication. But yeah, that’s a bit hidden in the settings.
You need an internet connection to connect to a offline LAN Plex server
Not true.
There are very few altruistic services, it’s generally good to asume that when something is free, you are the product in some way.
