I don’t use anything from the AUR, everything I use if official, or flatpak, that solves that potential issue. No doubt it isn’t that simple for everyone though.

So I have control of my computers. Windows has been getting worse, and worse for a long time, apathy is the only reason to stick with it. Pick the right distro, and linux can be very user friendly these days.

I prefer a gui, and have little faith in a company that is unwilling, or incapable of providing a decent one. Mullvad has a very good gui on linux, and android, as well as a browser extension. Airvpn has a linux app that looks 20 years old and doesn’t even have split tunnelling, apparently their android app also doesn’t have split tunnelling, so wtf are they actually doing, and where is their roadmap?

You stated that fishing and farming are necessary for our existence. That is obviously incorrect. Farming has obvious benefits over foraging, but is definitely not essential. Fishing: eating dead bodies is a choice, it is far from essential.
