At this point they’re quadrupuling down. Not our first rodeo, brochacho
My 6 year old has never played or seen a video game.
I take her to the beach, playdates at the park with friends, we go mountain biking, etc. Hearing your stories makes my flesh crawl
Yes, then they become toddlers and anything besides pizza or chicken nuggets is you trying to poison them
Babies can eat knives if they’re brave enough
“What could a banana possibly cost Michael? $10?”
It’s really not that difficult to not buy from Walmart and Amazon. I’m not saying any retailer is ideologically pure and chill across the board but mom and pop shops sell 95% of what they do and the money stays in your community
A lot of this shit is affected by what you eat. If I eat a lot of sugar and gluten it definitely affects my skin and dandruff 2-3 days later.
Besides what a lot of people said, try to stick to foods that don’t cause inflammation or reactions.
Less than 30%. A full third of the USA can’t be bothered to vote at all
Drove through there (Boring) an hour ago. It’s a cute place
A friend of mine bought a house for $40k under market because a murder suicide happened there the year before.
He said, “that sucks, but it’s not like I knew them or anything”
The head guy self published something like a dozen AI generated books that he’s selling on Amazon too
Even so, my friend’s ti bike has stains on it that he can’t get out sort of polishing/ brushing it
They’re not really mentioning stitcher any more
Great quote, but this isn’t really a children’s movie
Instagram is absolute garbage compared to how it used to be. It’s still massive. Once people are hooked, it’s hard to wean them off. People were livid at reddit, but only a fraction of those who spoke up are here
These were some of my favorite books at one time, but Simmons is a right wing chud these days. When you read his books with that awareness it’s actually kind of jarring how questionable some of the elements and characterizations he uses are.
I was really excited after finishing Hyperion and Endymion to read his other works, but Illium and Olympos made him out to be a one trick pony… plus those books just sucked
Endymion and Rise is Endymion were both great in my opinion.
Simmons is kind of a one trick pony tho, so it’s more of the same shit: things are happening and there’s this precocious character who has to explain everything explicitly to the reader, etc. I still think they’re worth reading. Illium and Olympos sucked and were essentially the same jarring non narrative that’s supposed to come together with the same sorts of characters and literary riffing (ie, elements from other genres and styles as well as Shakespeare, Greek mythology, etc.)
Unfortunately Simmons revealed himself to be outspoken with his regressive politics, so it’s kind of a bumout that Hyperion was a book that I enjoyed so much.
He has family members and toadies on the board
