My comment wasn’t about specifically using gimp on Linux and dumping Mac and windows. But just about how to getting used to gimp in general.
Linux is still lacking many other professional grade software so even you find a PS replacement on linux. Other software problems might pop up.
Don’t try to do client work bound to a deadline on gimp. Because the stress will make you close gimp at the simplest inconvenience. That’s what happened to me. But trying to work with it on my free time. And installing the photogimp addon helped alot. Gimp still has a long way to go.

Yes a fediverse version of Instagram. It relies on the activity pub protocol under the hood. Which makes it possible for example to follow like and comment to a pixelfed account from a mastodon account if you have one.
The fediverse has had a very low retention rate. My bet is that after a year MAU will come down to 60k. That is if meta doesn’t embroil itself in another controversy.
I don’t think it has that big of an impact. But most open source developers forget that it might end up being used by more people than just them .
Mastodon. Lemmy, do a web search especially for Lemmy on reddit and you are more likely than not to end up on threads about the singer . and don’t get me started on the many unpronounceable names of open source projects.

Adopt windows file system with letterer partitions as the root. Plus most people who use computers are used to this paradigm already. Who ever came up with Linux’s file system has poor organization skills
Some subreddits require a minimum karma score for posting. And it gets less likely to get shadow banned the more karma you have.
