This is really just stereotypical Tesla driver behavior. They are far and above the most entitled drivers in the SF Bay Area.

I don’t think that’s true. Sure, we get a few geniuses here and there, but with literally millions of kids out and about with no real guidance this isn’t going to be good for a future workforce. This isn’t a capitalist vs. socialist problem, but a societal one. Kids without the structure of an environment where collaboration and co-work are made available to them will struggle to integrate into other groups. Workers of the past were heavily exploited because they had little to no education to fall back on and no understanding of where they fit in the scale of things. Until Marx detailed it, all workers were exploited without realizing the whole system rested on them. Likewise, school teaches much more than propaganda and facts, but offer the opportunity to learn how to regulate one’s emotions and temper their attitudes. I also see this as an issue from parents who took school for granted when they were young and who didn’t learn anything about the world around them. It feeds this narcissism that people are just entitled to a certain view, until real life puts them in check.
I visit daily for a few of the top stories on r/all and some subreddits like, r/Helldivers, but overall my interest in anything else on that site has soured. It’s not nearly as engaging as it was and the subs that get pushed are just terrible copies of what was great. It’s definitely died before but this is different.
Agreed on the driver stereotype. Here in the SF Bay Area Teslas are abundant on the roads and a good 60-70% of their drivers are absolute shit.
Just one of several “dumb ideas”. How’s that Max app working out for them? I wouldn’t know because I left after that “dumb idea.”
And Darth Vader.
I guess depending on how many are just bots vs. actual users.
Many German officials have resisted calls to quit X, saying there was no substitute channel at present that would allow them to reach a broad section of the online public.
That’s it right there - this line really emphasizes why Musky came up with the idea to buy the platform in the first place.
Let’s hope the FCC and whatever other agencies applicable, get teeth and clamp down hard on how these social media giants. the way they operate its damn near treasonous at this point how open they are with allowing other governments to influence their policies. Especially with advertising and to children.
I’ve been saying this for awhile now. It’s the only reason he made that very public offer at the specific price he put out. He knew he couldn’t back out. He knew the line he was crossing so it wasn’t a spur of the moment purchase. He got Larry Ellison and a Saudi Investor involved. They didn’t all have the same crazy idea. These guys know they’re on the hook to the bank for whatever but between the 3 of them they’ll cover the losses and this big hub of rumor/news sharing will die. and they can stay mostly unharmed.
I just want to add he’s used tweets to manipulate stock prices before and it put the SEC on his ass. He’s familiar with how making public announcements like that can come across to the law at that point. Even though he wasn’t punished he knew where he the line was drawn well before he “impulsively” crossed it. Twitter was a haven for actual journalism and journalists who live by ethics knowing damn well the consequences for libel and slander. The stories they pushed had a massive influence on undoing his image and it keeps going. Same with his Saudi co investor and Larry Ellison. These guys all know what it was really worth.
Exactly the same for me. Never saw any particular party as one worth affiliation with my voting choices though I do end up voting for Democrat backed choices most often.
