That’s such a succinct summation of his presidency.

Nope.
My first and middle name are the first and last name of a very famous comedian/actor/writer. I was born in 79 during the height of his wild crazyness but my dad swears up and down that it had nothing to do with the choice of names. I’m just very happy this particular comedian is still a beloved and respected figure with no major scandals or skeletons.
charging small amounts from every user instead of having an ad-funded business is probably the most honest and fair way to have a healthy internet
I agree, but wouldn’t you think it’s far more likely that they would charge small amounts from every user AND have an ad-funded business?
The guy who directed Triangle also did a movie called Creep that’s absolutely worth a watch.
I don’t recall ever seeing one, and even so who cares?
I’ve been paying for Spotify for years. I’ve never heard a single promo for a single right wing dipshit podcast.
He’s been running the site since 95. I’ve been visiting since 96 or 97. I even provided the hardcopy for the Big Lebowski shooting script which he posted a few months before the movie premiered.
I didn’t demand, I suggested. Because it’s a show with tons of intentional subtlety. Every moment on the screen has a purpose. Not to mention all the brilliant dialog. There are so many great lines that come out of nowhere.
Sure, you can get the basics by skimming it… but you’re not going to get the full experience that way.
Hell, I’m on my fourth watch through and I’m still finding new shit.
You do you bro. It’s fine if you never learned how to calm yourself long enough to get the full experience the writers and directors wanted… because there’s a lot more than “pensive looks” going on. There are several dozen layers of subtlety happening on screen at any moment, and you’re bound to miss some shit. But whatever dude. I’m not here to tell you how to enjoy what is arguably one of the best first seasons of a television show in ages.
Dude, just watch it at normal speed and don’t skip anything. There’s a lot going on in that show.
The mall pictured in the article, Rolling Acres Mall in Akron OH, was the largest of three indoor shopping malls in the greater Akron area. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Akron, but we didn’t need three goddamn indoor shopping malls. We’re down to just one now, which seems appropriate.
That character was inspired by this real life kid.
I worked with a guy who complained about the company allowing employees to put their preferred pronouns in their email signatures. He said that while he was an “ally to the LGBTQ community”, he thought pronouns were a way to create further division.
So I started using she/her while referring to the guy in emails.
He didn’t like it. And he didn’t understand the irony of demanding that I stop. He also didn’t understand the irony when HR told him that the easiest way to fix his issue was to declare his preferred pronouns.
Long story short, I still get to refer to her as she/her.
The defeatist in me wants to downvote you. The optimist in me also wants to downvote you. The currently aware bit of me reminds me that this isn’t reddit, and downvotes aren’t a thing here. The rest of me is upst because there’s a non-zero chance you’re right, and the entire world would be better off.
To be fair, porn is a little lower on the “first they came for the -----” list than he was probably expecting. He likely thought he had a few more marginalized groups to take the fall before the leopards started eating HIS face. But yeah, reap what you sow.
Yeah, it’s a definite departure in tone. But stick with it. It becomes a more serious rendition of the franchise, but it’s just as engaging.
It not only keeps the overall spirit of the franchise going, it revitalizes it because of the set and setting. Where SG1 and Atlantis have humanity becoming virtually indestructible gods through their new technology, EVERYONE in SGU is vulnerable.
It’s really unfortunate because the show was canceled right when it was finding it’s feet.
I don’t disagree with you, which is why I’m hoping the person I replied to, who told me to “do some searches” actually does some for themselves. So hopefully they can learn that there’s hardly an epidemic of porn viewing related risks to physical/mental health. I’m not saying there are zero, I’m simply saying that it’s not at all occurring at levels worthy of mandating warnings.
That’s not how it works. If you are making the claim, it’s your responsibility to back that claim up with supporting information.
The magic of Three Wolf Moon exists on an entirely different plane than anything else wolf related. Those wolves are no longer a one-man wolfpack.
