Yeah, it’s natural to have spaces that aren’t for me. It’s fine. I really just have an issue with spaces where I am supposedly welcome to be hostile towards me.
Can’t catch a break

I am disappointed but not surprised. The attitude of men here reminds me a lot of default subs in Reddit. People tend to be more civil, but there is so much “but what about men?” when talking about women’s issues or belittling women still. Business as usual on the Internet, but I can see why it would cause women to avoid Lemmy.
I haven’t been back to Reddit, but it makes me miss the small niches where I didn’t see that as often.
I wish this font worked for me. I think my brain is defective.
It really doesn’t. I also dislike the fact it can be more difficult to find some parts for older cars too, so even if you wanted to salvage, it may not be viable.
The removal of 3.5mm jacks with no simple, universal, physical way to connect an audio device has been such a thorn in my side.
I said that about my older reliable car. Until I was rear ended at a stop light and it was totaled. During a time that used cars were more expensive than new. (I did find an 8 year old Corolla with high miles and lots of body damage for $18k though!)
I went without a car for nearly a year. Had to buy one when my partner was forced back to work in the office.
Peeking at the used market, it’s still not great where I am. Better than 2022-23 at least.
I like it because the name is more inclusive. I am incredibly dull and not a man.
Is that what those dogs that shoot bees from their mouths eat for breakfast?
Pretty much as soon as he passed, they announced they were making a spinoff.
Sooo… Early Myspace?
And yet it gets worse the more rural you get. I know a buddy that lives 10 miles outside of the closest town and they can get up to 3Mbps. I know it gets even worse in the boonies. At least my cell service isn’t terrible up there. It was pretty atrocious ~15 years ago.
This seems very anecdotal. It would be interesting to see some numbers on how different age groups interact with different UI types.
In my experience, most people prefer “card” view type interfaces. Most popular sites I can think of at the top of my head are like this. Instagram shows you a picture. Facebook you default see a post until it is truncated. New Reddit is like this as well. Twitter shows just a small post, and you can view threads that way too.
Even old sites that had list views tended to get more popular when you get a card view, like Reddit.
I’m not sure if it’s generational.
I occasionally have to use Chrome because sometimes the sites I need to use won’t work with Firefox. This includes bill pay for some of my utilities. (At least usually by the next month, the utility company fixes their site again so I can use Firefox…)
I remember having Trillian on Windows way back when.
I’ll have you know I did go back and read my logs from like 2008. I think I cringed so hard I never recovered. You might have saved yourself by not looking at yours!
It’s a bug in your client, and the post it gets is related to your instance. That’s why the other person that says they get the same incorrect post is from your same instance.
Hey look, a picture of cute kids!
It blows my mind when people do that.
“Hey, the way that you styled yourself makes me not want to have sex with you.”
“Uhhh… Cool?”
So jealous of that counter space!
Where do you keep the fridge?
Welcome to Lemmy, glad you’re here. :)
Dear god, beautiful. Still as pointy and ornery as a housecat too, I imagine.
