just started using Firefox with ublock origin for the same reason. I run the kagi plug-in on Firefox so I can tailor my search engine preferences (https://kagi.com/). I go back and forth between those two mostly.
outstanding list!
HA! sick burn
I really shouldn’t respond to this since I’m just rehashing up one of the stupidest arguments I’ve ever had. but, what you said is actually pretty close to what my position was. we parted ways when it came to the more distant cousins. I suggested a cool hundred K USD out to second cousins 'cause, after all, 300 million doesn’t buy as much as it used to
but surprisingly, it didn’t really matter because we didn’t win the lottery. imagine that. /s.
My lesson learned was that arguing on principle isn’t usually worth it
My wife and I bought 10 lottery tickets at a time when the pot got up to 300 million or something like that. we were talking about what we would would do with the money once we won and couldn’t agree on how many of our friends mortgages we would pay off. we MAY have had some other things going on in a relationship at that time, but it’s still one of the stupidest arguments I’ve ever gotten in.
the Culture series by Iain Banks sucked me in completely! it starts with Consider Phlebas for anyone looking to jump in.
I loved revelation space! unfortunately, most of Alastair Reynolds audio books are narrated by by a voice actor who’s narration I personally find off-putting. I find him very affected and self absorbed, so much so that it distracts from the characters and story. it’s nice to actually stop and read though, just harder to find the time.
Micky 7 works on similar lines. a bit longer with a bit more to say, but basically a fun read
are there any phone apps you know of it might recommend?
we’re a social species. community standing plays a role in our ability to find mates and improves our childrens’ chances of survival
people are generally ok. put them in a situation where they can climb over other people to advance and watch the rot begin.
so, while people are generally ok, corporate people are generally not.
here here!
didn’t think much of the sequels though
“we’re on a mission from God”
personally, I have no desire to live longer than I’m intended to. living to that age with more vitality, however, that sounds great!
do you mean fusion? fusions the one that separate atomic nuclei that we’ve had since the 1940’s. fusions the one where atomic nuclei are combined, that make headlines when the reactors run for more than a few seconds
a little blunt, but there’s the classic Boaty McBoatface
North East, US here. probably fine but I don’t trust it. we use a water filter for drinking
you’ll probably need to talk to some people about it before you secure patent protection. whenever this comes up, have people you talk to sign a non disclosure agreement first. talking about your idea outside of an NDA would most likely be considered public disclosure and could limit your ability to get a payment for it.
talk to a patent attorney
