Imagine the grocery bill!
Imagine the grocery bill!
sure, but in the case of gawker, it wasn’t a slapp, and they won, and gawker was ruined, their entire staff laid off, and sold off for pennies
well, no, gawker did themselves no favors by 1) posting a video of another person naked having sex , and then, 2) refusing to take it down when asked to “for journalistic integrity and definitely not salacious ad revenue”
this doesn’t mirror that at all, in the slightest, except it being funded by someone wealthy
these folks are still confused that they have protection under “free speech” arguments anywhere except if being penalized by the government for it. there are no constitutional “free speech” arguments to be made against private companies, who are under no obligation to allow whatever speech they deem hurtful or potentially hurtful to their business.
shhhhhhh whatsa matta wit you
it’s the “just fuck me up fam” option
now tell em where whales come from
I’d suggest Mastodon to anyone looking for a new social media platform to join, but I can’t suggest Lemmy/KBIN as they don’t have legitimate blocking in place, as theirs is simply the same bullshit Reddit like “masking” where you can no longer see who you blocked, but they can still see, and reply to whatever it is you post, which of course is rife from abuse from the people you want to distance yourself the most from. Until there’s legitimate, you no longer exist, blocking on Lemmy/KBIN I would suggest anyone else use them. (to say nothing of all the errors in KBIN from notifications, to blocking, to posting, to seeing comments, the list stretches endlessly)
they saw the writing on the wall and decided to get ahead of it, by agreeing to locked down firmware apple only replacement parts, which isn’t a full right to repair, but it does extend the life of an apple device, if you pay the apple tax
you now have the right to repair with only their parts, which is progress, albeit minimal and expensive
Europe said Apple you don’t impress me much
Fuck Ice (wonder what they’ll do, picture a tech red in the face)
You can program AI you see, not as simple programing real flesh and blood human beings who care about education as they’re the only ones stupid enough to accept the meager pay, stress, and vilification needed to survive in that field.
Imagine still using fucking Facebook in the year of the Christians lord 2023
the brave experience was less than ideal for me, the brave search is unusable, i switched back to firefox, which i had moved to from chrome
also, related, but a side note, word to the wise, never ever ever use a free vpn ever, someones gotta foot the bill for the exit server bandwidth, and either they’re keeping logs or they’re not keeping logs, but you’ll never know, and you won’t know when they sell their settup to the next guy. always use a major vpn service who’s audited and shown proof they’re not keeping logs, they’re in the business of secure and private vpn service. free vpns like what brave are offering are not in that business, and server, rack space, bandwidth costs actual money
hahahahahahahahahahaha all these dingbats are gonna give elon fucking musk their credit card information
I moved to KBIN, because Lemmy’s namesake owned the largest personal collection of Nazi memorabilia in the world for years leading up until his death. Lemmy was an entire piece of shit human being. Fuck Lemmy.
KBIN has had it’s issues, most noticeably, I haven’t been able to access any of my notifications for about 3 months now at all and every time I click on the notifications number to check it throws up the “were working on it” error page, attempts to block users from certain instances doesn’t work and throws up the error “we’re working on it page”, and you can’t seem to block entire instances from KBIN without it seemingly unrelatedly weirdly losing the ability to see comments in disparate random posts (all known issues) … other than that I’m perfectly happy on KBIN
