Can speak to this slightly. I tried to get their app to run via Wine, and it did not work just “plug and play” at least. Tried to find a guide or some alternative option. After about 15 min of searching, I decided that “eh, it works great out of the box” and started using easy effects for an EQ instead.

I own a pair of these. Depending on the game, they add a lot of value to my Steamdeck. But for everyday computing, they are actually very impractical.

I do miss the ability to find conversations about any niche topic I want.

But the conversations on Lemmy are more genuine/authentic and the platform is run on principal/morals. An enshittified platform based on greed and inundated with bots could never compete.

Put another way, Reddit feels like I’m talking to the ‘‘internet’’, Lemmy feels like I’m talking to people.

Not that I’m fully on board with the theory, but you might be surprised how often “solving” a high profile case is placed above actually getting the right man.

This is a publicity nightmare for the police, and getting someone in custody “achieves” placating the public and key stakeholders.

Repeating things about this kids views on the Uni-bomber and referring to his writings as a manifesto “achieves” diminishing his status as a folk hero.

So while I won’t endorse any particular theory until more evidence comes out, it wouldn’t be the first time putting a scapegoat in jail was deemed more important than letting people think the “perp” got away. Even if the hypothetical real shooter kills again, controlling the narrative can be it’s own goal in cases like this.
