Also shows how much they actually can’t or won’t leave based just on just a (much needed) tax increase.

Conservatives that aren’t rich, white, and straight surprise the hell out of me. Like, it was literally founded to push only that group and at the time even Irish people weren’t the right kind of white.
To be fair, what sounded like some northern European idea of just ignoring the person so much they have to leave did, on researching, lead to the Wikipedia article titled “Arson in Medieval Scandinavia” and was about burning people alive in their own homes.
Reddit still sucks and all and I wouldn’t be at all sad if this happened to quite a few of these fuckwads but I mean c’mon they definitely weren’t mad at the effectiveness of the solution.
Yea, we’ve all gotten so used to online shopping that we’ve forgotten what we’re allowed to do when it comes to local stores. I even worked retail in a motorcycle shop selling gear and ordered stuff from suppliers all the time.
To be honest, since most places ship from their physical locations(which may not have stock or carry something at all due to demand) and Amazon’s incredibly predatory practices it means that they are pretty much the only option. I’ve gotten stuff from Etsy as well(but it doesn’t help for, like, water filters and certain appliance parts), and I really have always tried to avoid Amazon, but there are just some things where they’re the only ones where I can buy some of this stuff.
And like I said, I’m gunna have to just start asking outright for stuff even if whatever store doesn’t carry it normally. It’ll take some patience but I’ll live.
People gotta start working the hours they’re paid for. If I’m working my shift well then it’s not my fault that the company is understaffed and I am not gunna bust my ass to cover for someone’s poor leadership.
There actually are things that one just cannot find elsewhere easily, and most of the places that reliably carry them locally are places like Walmart which aren’t better. That said, it’s always the very last place I look.
With all this nonsense I’m going to start asking local stores if they can order stuff for me, though, and just be extra patient. For example, it’s wild how little there is for mandolins at local music stores but at least the British strings I’m going to try switching to are there so that’s something.
Like the other person said, you can at least control what you interact with directly. So you cancel your Prime subscription and turn your lights with your hand instead of an Echo but you don’t worry so much about trying to figure out if any of the several companies involved in making [product] have some form of attachment to AWS.
And there will be some level of consumption in this horrible system that’s not gunna be good in order for you to not be horribly depressed but people can shed more than they think and alternatives do exist for many of the ones you might put at lower priority.
First, you said “I completely agree with him”. If you do not understand how that might mean we think that means you agree with his rationale then writing your assignments by hand clearly didn’t help you that much.
But anyway:
Because sometimes you need to research things for homework? Because the kids with reliable internet will still be able to use it, will use it, and will have an unfair advantage over the kids who don’t have the same level of access(usually because their parents aren’t as well off, perpetuating the cycle of poverty). Even if we decided that every single piece of homework was to be 100% handwritten that wouldn’t make the internet go away and these problems would still persist.
It’s so much more nuanced than some weak take that doesn’t do much but expose your lack of understanding of the issue. Yes, there are some clear advantages to maybe scaling things back a little but this not the way to do it, not even a little bit.
I imagine if those obey the robots.txt thing that it’s not a problem.
He is literally, outloud, complaining that the reason is because maybe kids who are unsupervised and have access to things are somehow going to have less access(??) to conservative viewpoints. The society he’s so afraid of creating is one where he cannot control children’s access to filtered, conservative-biased media, and since pretty much every conservative talking point is a lie, exaggeration, or manipulated perspective they desperately need to be in control of the flow of information. They’re literally banning paper books, bro.
Also this is about hotspot use being expanded outside of schools(“off-premises”), but if that comment is your take then maybe reading comprehension isn’t your thing. Guess those paper textbooks didn’t really do anything to help you, either.
(Literally in the first line it explains that the intention is to help kids without reliable internet get their homework done. He just hates poor people, big surprise.)
If they don’t blow themselves up, that is.
Man they’re not even doing the dog-whistle thing anymore, huh? Fucking disgusting, I hope he experiences the everlasting warmth of a car fire in the near future.
Judges having a vested interest in their stocks doing well is totally not a conflict of interest nope.
Often times it’s because other people are using it. Those people can’t use iCloud but I can use Google Docs and stuff. Hell, my MacBook can hang with my phone but my own PC isn’t connected, either. And then after that, are you really gunna expect most people to use and manage two different systems?
I use iCloud for photos, Safari on my phone and laptop because they’re connected easily that way, and have a few important documents on iCloud as well like all my stuff for job applications or sheet music so that I have access if I need that stuff elsewhere. And yet I still have Google drive for some things and use Google Sheets because it’s easy to share.
Not understanding why someone might not go all-in on a specific brand is more of a lack of imagination on your part than some failing on theirs.
The problem is, and of course when it matters I forget the specifics, that there are many times when language is changed to soften how bad something is and it results in people not taking things seriously.
The issue here is cars being shipped in a broken state, that’s it. They recall the vehicles and force people to skip out of work or whatever to get this shit done because their products suck, and if they wanted to not deal with that then maybe they should products that don’t suck. They can also collect a bunch of these issues, seeing as they’re common, and either make a patch of several minor issues or just say that the problem will be addressed at the next service. This is entirely on the companies to save their image, not us to change our language to make them feel better.
Rare and pretty much always committed by the GOP. Fuckin’ nasty fucks.
Looking at it more I think they did it that way so when you put a regular cord in the plug is protected and the extra spaces on top and bottom are the get your fingers in to unplug it.
This work will have lots of applications in the future. I personally stay as far away from it as I can because I just have zero need for it to write souless birthday card messages for me but to act like the work is doing nothing is kinda stupid.
Every stage it’s been at people would say “oh this can’t even do X” and then it could and they’d so “oh it can’t do Y” and then it could and they’d say…do I really need to go on?
The biggest issue with it all right, for me anyway, now is that we’re trying to use it for the absolute dumbest shit imaginable and investors are throwing tonnes of money, that could solve real problems we don’t need AI for, into the grinder while poverty and climate change run rampant around us.
Except that even if your commute is 20km that’s still going tonlast you all week. Obviously there are other trips to make but it’s definitely not stopping 99.9% of people in the middle of their commute, or even their workday, to charge.
I don’t know why so many people think whatever they buy needs to be able to handle every single fringe case they’ve never even experienced or why they think that something being absolutely adequate for their own use is somehow bad. It’s room-temp IQ bullshit and I’m tired of it.
17k for a vehicle powered by a watch battery(exaggeration) is pretty sick and more than practical, even for people in North America.
