If you don’t watch what your kids play, your kids will find something inappropriate to play. This isn’t just a Roblox problem. Not suggesting Roblox shouldn’t have better moderation (holy hell should they) but this isn’t unexpected. Should it be? Maybe. Could they realistically do it? Probably not without some serious vetting changes—changes that would make “experience makers” have to wait to get their games approved.

Lock down the accounts so they can’t see server chat or get messages from randoms. Only allow your (parent) account to add friends. Play with them. Be present, at least somewhat, when they play.

I think I phrased this badly. I wanted effectively a digital filing cabinet software with OCR/tagging—not just OCR alone. It looks like paperless-ngx ticks all those boxes.

This does sound great. I really do want to move bills older than 6 months (and other records in general) backed up to my PC as well as cloud storage.

Do you have any recommendations on this sort of thing? Ideally, something that scans with OCR and makes things searchable. Failing that, I may have a project for myself to do…

I don’t have the hope you do. The sheer number of people that believe the moon landing was faked is just plain crazy. There were soooo many people involved with that process, yet it’s still not believed.

I don’t (generally) sail the high seas, but I’m surprised that people don’t use SysInternals tooling on windows. Of note:

• ProcExp - A way better process explorer and has a built-in VirusTotal scanner for all running processes. 100 times better than standard process explorer. This in combination with windows defender is nearly always enough.

• AutoRuns - A tool to see what automatically runs on your system. Included image hijacks and such. This is for handling potential post-infection scenarios.

I’m not ignoring evidence, I just see an alternative you don’t: He wants attention and he always has. He’s “losing” and the easiest way to get validation is to get it from those that are right-wing. He wants so badly to be treated as “a genius”.

Nobody other than staunch right-wingers believe his non-sense. He only gets headlines because controversy sells.

Don’t attribute to malice what is absolutely just idiocy. Musk is not some genius. He is quite literally a man-child who made money because he came from money (and maybe a little luck).

His hubris led to this disaster with twitter—nothing else.
