1·8 days agoI felt this place was a ghost town when I first started - maybe 10 posts a day. Now, there is plenty to read. Partly due to me finding more communities and overall more people here.

10·9 days agoCompetition is good. Also the less data Reddit has, the slower A.I. models can be trained.

3·9 days agoThat would be nice. It can probably be done by blocking images at the browser level. Wouldn’t be the same as a text only site though.

8·2 months agoHell no. I don’t even use Proton’s AI.
AI is going to put people out of work, the data centers are going to use too much water and electricity.

//First step to change is acknowledging what they did was wrong. And then let the actions speak. While I could find an article on his personal blog on March 2014 about how he is going to commit himself for equality, he didn’t mention anything about acknowledging what he did was wrong. I could not find him say he directly regrets for his action that he did in 2008 by donating to an anti-marriage-equality proposition.//
Agreed. I got the statement that Eich has changed his attitude from a Wikipedia page about him. Unfortunately, I didn’t read the source on that claim and that’s on me for sure. I’m guessing we both read the same very unconvincing blog entry from 2014. Reads like something written my the PR department.
Palantir - that isn’t good.
I’m gonna start looking for a Chromium based browser that syncs for desktop and android. I’m not hopeful.
Brendan Eich made that donation in 2008. 17 years ago. People change and he has stated that he regrets his actions.
A few months ago Andy Yen, CEO of Proton, made some comments on Twitter that many took to be pro Trump.
Mozilla took payouts from Google for years, yet they are still a respected privacy company.
Wait long enough and the leaders of any foss project will disappoint.
Vanadium needs more features before I can even think of using it.
I’m already using Ironfox, it syncs with Librewolf. I will not log in with a Mozilla browser on Android.
I don’t consider the personality of the developer when choosing an app or service. If I did, most likely I couldn’t use technology at all.
Brendan Eich is a world class ass for sure but no other browser comes close to Brave’s performance on android.
I use LibreWolf with UBO and Brave on my Linux.
Brave is for logins, LibreWolf is set to dump all browsing data when closed.

Firefox@lemmy.ml•How can I efficiently delete all cookies, continuously, except certain session cookies in certain specific containers ?
1·8 months agoHave you tried two browsers?
One browser for logins that doesn’t auto delete data when closed.
My second browser deletes everything, except bookmarks, when I close it.

Finally, someone else in this thread that sees the potential.
