What the hell even is that email? What purpose does sending a fully generated, unprompted email like that out even serve? Is it just a bizarre advertising campaign for their platform? If they wanted to send a sincère thank you message then they could have written it themselves rather than that shallow slop that benefits nobody

6·3 days agoThis is about artists posting their artwork so I’m not sure where else they’d be expected to post it?
Edit: instead of the internet I mean, not instead of Twitter because I dont know why anyone is still on that platform

Linux@lemmy.ml•What 3D printing-related software runs on Linux?English
4·9 days ago+1 to TinkerCAD and PrusaSlicer. I have a (Creality) Ender V3 but switched away from CrealityPrint to Prusa due to Wayland issues and while it’s not as pretty, it’s not just as powerful but more so
TinkerCAD has also been amazing for nearly everything I need. I only recently hit the limit with it after years of printing and switched to Blender but it’s super solid

19·10 days agoI know you’re on iOS but for anyone else who’s on Android, TrackerControl is a great easy to use app for this purpose
But for iOS OP, maybe AdGuard would help?
Ah, yeah that’s fair. I’m on a few but primarily use TorrentLeech which is more relaxed about things. To be honest though, torrents are my fallback anyway and most of my downloads are done via Usenet
Yeah I see the same thing and I self host a seedbox that has hundreds of seeding torrents. Some torrents do get some seeding action but most never upload anything. Never figured out why but some private trackers give you points towards your up/down ratio the longer you seed so I just roll with that ¯\(ツ)/¯

Immich’s use of AI is arguably one of the most suitable cases for the technology and it runs entirely on your own device. I get the hate for AI but this ain’t it

41·2 months agoReally? I have two 4k monitors, one being 160hz and I find they’re handled way better by Wayland over X11. Even fractional scaling is perfect now

143·2 months ago…have you actually used Wayland? If you’re using Plasma or GNOME, its indistinguishable from X11 except it actually has a slightly more (inexplicable tbh) polished feel to it.
This comment is incredibly misinformed

Technology@lemmy.world•FBI Tries to Unmask Owner of Infamous Archive.is SiteEnglish
26·2 months agoPurely anecdotal but they’re the only news site that I’ve ever given my email to and I actually enjoy seeing their emails. They send entire (interesting) articles that can be read with no CSS/tracking images enabled and their monetisation is a small text ad that breaks a single couple of paragraphs.
I’ve never gotten an email from them that was begging for money or anything like that, just basically an RSS feed of interesting articles

Wow in Canada you’ll maybe get a letter from your ISP telling you that they got a complaint and that they’re legally obligated to tell you to stop but that’s as far as it’ll go. If you keep torrenting without a VPN, you’ll just receive the same letter again but they don’t actually care
