Neighbors in apartments change far too frequently for various reasons - life changes, rent hikes, property issues, etc. It very rarely seems worth the time to invest in a potential acquaintanceship. The only people that ever seem to be eager to be friends in my experiences end up being the elderly and the younger folks anyway.

It also makes it far more awkward when you have to eventually have a neighborly conversation and ask them to not leave their trash in the hallway or keep their volume down or something else minor.

If you start at zero, the exact same data is shown as when there is a clearly labeled breakpoint. It contributes nothing other than obscuring the data points and scope of discussion is only for the past month. You’re not making a cogent point.

Just like I said before, a 5% decline is not an insignificant drop or “very slightly declined.” Expanding the scope of the argument to show that it’s actually a far steeper decline in user engagement and then arguing the opposite point is misinterpreting the data. Expanding the scope just shows that the trends are continuously showing declining user engagement with no organic growth other than Reddit fucking up.

Showing the data over an entirely different timescale than what’s currently under discussion means nothing in this context to illustrate your point.

Starting from 0 on the y axis just means you need to change the scale, which like I said makes reading any data points incomprehensible, or end up with an unnecessary amount of whitespace.

All starting at 0 would do is ensure that you have no way to accurately gauge the data points values. It would also just compress the data to an incomprehensible smudge of a line.

The starting point is just so you can adequately see trends for both plots shown and is quite sane. I also don’t know if I could call an ~5% decline and clear trend minimal either.

Flypaper strips can be effective depending on the severity and location of the issue and are fairly cheap. It won’t be 100% effective, but it might help. Just be very careful about where you place it if you have any pets or children.

You’d be better suited just having a user select that they are comfortable dating a trans individual because it will likely come up very early in the dating process anyway.

Forcing someone to identify as a gender that doesn’t make them comfortable is just going to result in them not using your app and is frankly kind of a dick move overall. Your suggestion would just create an app that was suited for chasers, not trans users.

I go to great lengths to not use Amazon but in the US, unless you live in a large urban area Amazon and Walmart have systematically run most smaller, neighborhood retailers out of business already. If I wanted to go to a bookstore that wasn’t a Barnes and Noble, I would need to drive about an hour and a half.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but this referenced ad post is over a year old. There’s been “organic” guerilla marketing by advertisers on Reddit for almost a decade now. How is this relevant to the recent changes?

For what it’s worth, I saw your posts on Yiffit when you found all this out after the fact. It’s a little inconvenient on desktop, but on mobile it’s actually very intuitive to have separate accounts to specifically browse an instance by local. You can usually even have the same display name if that’s important to you as well.

In the future though you always do need to keep instance politics, culture, and rules in mind when choosing a daily driver account because it is important.
