Not sure if it’s still the case, but I recall my instance had a phrase hidden within the rules page that you had to find and include in your application.

I’m not a developer but I believe it was the Voyager dev that explained Lemmy currently can’t do this. Apps only reach out to Lemmy servers while they are open. Push notifications would require the developers to run their own servers that the apps would reach out to while running in the background and no one wants to pay for that especially since most apps are free. I may be explaining this wrong.
If I remember right, each new account has the same subs subscribed to by default. Idk what they are and won’t make a new account to find out lol. I assume those are the ones.
Maybe I misinterpreted either your previous comments or what the article is saying. But I can agree with that.

The burden of proof should be on whoever is making a claim. If someone accuses me of doing something with no evidence, my verbal denial shouldn’t be skeptical without proof. Brother isn’t in a position that they should require to provide proof against the claim being made against them. I didn’t see any mention in the article of other user’s printers being bricked aside from the original claim from 2022. Maybe some further investigation would come up with something, but claims made on Reddit posts and YouTube videos hardly count as proof of anything.
I dont see how the burden of proof is on Brother. If you’re looking for verification from tens of thousands of other printer users and hearing crickets, i think you have your answer.
OP explains in the description why it starts with A ans not An.
So I went to bitly’s website to see if I could find anymore info here. It looks like most of bitly’s paying customers are businesses that generate QR codes and links that can use custom domains. Since these businesses are already paying customers, anyone using those accounts shouldn’t see ads, but those businesses’ customers probably will! Maybe I’m missing something, but it seems like bitly will inject ads into their customers’ customers screens. If I was one of these business owners I would be pissed lol.
I’ve no doubt most if not all Lemmy users will never buy into a paid bitly subscription. But does anyone here at least know of someone who does, or has a similar subscription? Who would need that? Is bitly so essential to some people that they would pay for an ad free experience? I’m not programmer but I had an interest in it once. Building a URL shortener is one of the most basic programs beginners can get into. There must be hundreds of services for shortening URLs. I know that’s a lot of questions but I find this so intriguing.
Because when reddit was introducing the new API pricing and said it would be affordable and they would work with developers of 3rd party apps to make a smooth transition, that was obviously how things went. Everyone knows that because reddit makes a claim they follow through on it with 100% accuracy. You’re not wrong to read the article and cite info from it, but there’s no reason to believe that’s what’s going to happen either.
What do you think about indentured servitude being called slavery?
There is little to no repercussions for Meta.
I’d love another Silent Hill from the team that made the remake
My app (voyager) doesn’t show an extention following your username, are you also on mander.xyz?
You’re talking about proof reading posts on internet forums? How long have you been using the internet? There was a time when we didn’t all have smart phones with auto correct or grammarly extensions for our web browsers. Grammar and spelling has only gotten better
It was just a typo of spez
Buying games through steam is optional. Steam itself is the game manager. I run many of my non steam games through it and don’t pay a dime for it. Alternatively I can buy steam games through 3rd party stores. The steam client on your machine is free.
Do you pay for steam?
This is a part of how any business is valued. You don’t just buy the building, stock, brand name, etc. You also buy the customer base. Any place you’ve ever done business with that later got sold, has made you a part of the sale technically.
