If not friend, why friend shaped?
If not friend, why friend shaped?
If nintendo’s price points are anything similar to Lenovo’s from last week, ~50$ US of that is from darth cheeto and his tarrifs.
Not trying to be political, lemmy sorta has that covered already, just pointing that out.
(Source: Linus’s crew pointed it out earlier in the week Link)
Open registration is a flag in your config file. Its normally not there by default. Plus half the mobile apps do not support account creation pages of you have the flag turned on.
Room settings are what controls view/join roles from federated instances.
Im pretty new to this space, so if your up for talking shop.
Plus the early adopters are not going to be lay-people, they are going to be tech enthusiests and people who know what they are shopping for. Having Meta and their data harvesting gadgets all over your home is something they would be very concious of, and in my case, avoid entirely for that reason.
The outcome, is dispite the lower cost to get a VR headset, a lot of people still havent entered the space yet, due to the security concerns and refusal to accept the data collection terms of more afordable devices.
We believe in you, there are other write-ups and guides on how to get it working. Its was great learning expirence for VMs and Proxmox (thats what I did and it did make it harder, but I feel more confident when im cosplaying as a sys-admin)
This one is pretty close to whats needed, but go into it expecting each step to open a new tool/application that needs to be researched before you press enter. Also look up how to set it to a PSQL db before you start inviting users, it defaults to SQLite and that will cause problems eventually.
Hell yah, TS3 crew all the way. (Or TS5 for the zoomers…)
My nerds herd recently also set up a cluster of Matrix Synapse servers so we got our little “We have Telegram at home” set up. Getting non-tech people to accept that this is how to find me has been tricky without sounding like a digital prepper.
Im agree, but my gripes stem from the timing of how and when they picked him up. Rolling a nat 1 on disquise in a golden arches hundreds of miles away with all the evidence makes me think one of two things. 1) he isnt the guy, the NYPD needed their pound of flesh and just made it all up or 2) they are sure its him, but are unwilling to explain to the press how they know because big brother shit.
In addition, with the mayor not shutting up about the investigation, that perp walk, and the media shrieking “oh no, he’s hot”, the is no way he is getting an unbiased jury in NYC. (I expect it to be the opposite, but thats the ACAB talking)
Also innocent until proven guilty, a lot of people seem to forget that one.
But if they internally report interest is up, but sales do not reflect it, then investors think they are cooking books somewhere and the valuation goes down due to lack of trust.
IT work is feast or famine.
“IT people, your not doing anything, what the hell do we pay you for?”
“IT people, everything is on fire, what the hell do we pay you for?”
I did not expect this much detail on this topic. There were discussions about detergents and such in another thread. And the logic is exactly the same.
Dont ship water.
(This needs to go in a Lemmy hall of fame)
Use a third party app like New Pipe, if your on a fruit phone… you unfortunatly cant side load apps, I dont have an answer…
The War Thunder forum is a greater threat to “national security” than any of this AI whohash. Something, something, nickle…
Just turn noscript on and the popup doesnt show up.
Shame.
Note for Obsidian, there is a git plugin that can auto-push/pull from a repo. I put my repo on a server and have multiple devices use it as a sync feature (there is also a VPN to my home network involved). Not sure how well it works on the android app (its pure lazyness as to why I haven’t tried that yet…)
I agree with your point about the vote system. The single change Lemmy made that I think makes it much healthier is that you have no profile total up or down votes. There is no reason to chase imaginary internet points, while giving the court of public opinion the tools to tell you your wrong.
For example, Youtube became a much more unreliable place when it removed the dislike button. So much so that third party plugins now are what people have to use to decide, at a glance, if something is worthy of other peoples time.
My last expirence with XMPP is very dated, my old groups in EvE online used it and it was perfect for its role as a sort of internet pager to summon the horde of nerds. Im aware there are many new related projects, discounting it seems a bit premature now, if you have any recomendations I would love to read their docs.
My concern is that I would have to pitch what ever project we landed on to a semi-technical group of gamers with a handful of admins to run things. (Trying to avoid a platform that gen-z would complain about, and they already roll their eyes at me when I mention spaceships and spreadsheets).
You would think they could add an induction charger and actually make it “magic”-ly charge.
Dito, still have RIF installed on my phone so every time I click a reddit link im reminded of what they did with a 403: forbidden error. I like it better over here anyway, nicer people who give a shit and fewer bots (or atleast fewer obvious ones).
