Driven plenty, still hate them.
Driven plenty, still hate them.
for starters people around here tend to misinterpret what you’re saying accidentally or willfully, far more than my experience with reddit previously.
Honestly, this is what has driven me away. No matter how innocuous something I say is, there are a bunch of “well, askshewly” asshats to argue an irrelevant part of your statement, or start the “whataboutism” shit. It’s exhausting, and frankly, takes all the fun out of it.
That and the bots reposting reddit shit. I may as well go back to reddit. Plus Narwhal is still working…
It started happening to me not long before Apollo going dark. I went from never getting a single chat request to 4-5 porn bots daily.
Dude, I drive a Miata, and a 1st gen rx7. I can think of maybe 2 times I’ve needed to drive my husbands car (which is a veloster, so not terribly large either) in the 8 or so years of Miata ownership. At least one of those times was because I didn’t want to drive the RX7 from San Diego to Los Angeles with no air conditioning, no power steering, and a relatively heavy clutch, in the middle of summer, in rush hour traffic. Not because what I was picking up wouldn’t fit in the rx7.
What exactly do you need to do multiple trips for?
There are algorithms working in the background on Reddit to keep you there. Same with pretty much all “social media”. They aren’t on Lemmy. The point of Reddit is to keep you there, and shove as many ads down your throat as possible. Ads don’t exist here, and no one (as far as i can tell) is making money from you being here.
Yeah, there is less content, but that’s not really the biggest reason.
I have to itemize every invoice, for ever customer. Sometimes 100+ items long, and it’s rarely the same, customer to customer. I’m pretty sure they can figure out how to do it too.
Not that I needed any more, but I’ll take reason I’ll never own a GM for $5000 Alex.
Siri.
Already is.
Works great with iPhone. It gets a little angsty when you have the Apple keychain or whatever it’s called activated sometimes. Honestly it is just a matter of selecting which to use, but the software gets a little confused sometimes.
I do too. I was given premium because alien blue and something else so I have tons and tons of coins. I don’t think it’s worth giving Reddit the traffic to give them out, especially if they are all going to disappear in a. Couple months anyhow. My account is still active I just haven’t been to Reddit since the 11th June.
Doesn’t Al Jazeera keep up their content on Ukraine pretty well? I seem to remember they did. I could totally be imaging it too.
I think they are trying to, either, do an only fans type thing where people can pay the contributors directly and Reddit just takes a cut, or to try to draw more creators in and pay like YouTube based on traffic to them. Either way, I’m glad I’m no longer over there. It’s all too money grubbing for me.
I don’t disagree. I’m not sure how that generates revenue for Reddit though. Unless it’s their attempt to capture content creators like YouTube. Or is it more like an onlyfans type idea where people pay the creator personally through the system and they system just takes their cut.
Eh. Whatever. I’m no longer on Reddit. It I’m mildly entertained by the drama.
Screens are now up there for genuine. Oh, and btw Apple very quietly implemented an “alert” when you have an aftermarket screen.
Wonder how that’s going to work with this
It doesn’t look like they will. It looks like you have until September to use or lose. Also, it looks like if you bought premium, you’re just losing that “feature” with no replacement value for your money
It also looks like they are going to implement some kind of “contriburor” payment scheme.
And I was referring to the one that I linked, which took place after that one, and after the protests started.
This says after to protest. Unless I’m reading it wrong.
Johnny Cash’s cover of Hurt by NiN
The video is beautiful, but the story, and timeline of cash’s later life, is heartbreaking.
It’s not flashy, it’s not in your face, but it evokes feelings in most people, and tells a story.
