Looks more like a complete rewrite to me.

It has a USB port.
I don’t think anything’s wrong with trees, but maybe we could also have some of these as well as trees ?
First of all nobody is proposing to replace existing trees with that, that would be silly! AFAIU the people who created this also don’t want these to be used where trees could be planted. They are outspokenly designed for already densely packed cities that are already highly polluted and hostile to trees, to start turning things around. Rebecca Watson’s 6min take
I appreciate Rebecca Watson’s opinion. Watched the 6min video, now convinced 👍
Also learned a new term: kneejerk cynicism
I don’t think your dog will see that as problematic.

4G of RAM isn’t too bad. SSD is good. But I cannot parse the processor line. Is that a single core at 1.4GHz? That would be rough.
FWIW I’m writing this on a 13yo thinkpad that has 2 cores @ 2 threads each, at 2.6GHz max, and it’s fine for anything except gaming.
As I said, I was just editing POIs.
It’s made like a game!
This app finds missing map data in your vicinity and displays it on a map as quests. Solve each quest by visiting the location on-site and answering a simple question to update the map.
I love how you got back at him. Firstly, chance of being discovered is close to zero. And since he’s already into hot sauce, he’d never admit that this one’s too much for him. So either he eats it all up and you get to revel in seeing his red face, or he throws it away and you got one over on him for preaching about food waste. Nice.
OSMAnd~ also has the option to edit.
I did it a few times, it really isn’t hard! Just adding or fixing POIs though; I wouldn’t know how to add or fix a wrongly placed house/path etc.
Glad you asked. I left that open on purpose because my server probably got hacked and I have only just reinstalled. So far I’ve been using DaviCAL - for many years - but I’ll revise this choice. It’s a little dated and quirky, and so ist PostgreSQL which it depends on.
What’s that link got to do with PostmarketOS? It does not look like FuriOS is a version of it?
Convergence! I think Ubuntu tried to go that way for a while.
We need phones with standard Linux.
Already exists. Several iterations are active and work as a daily driver: phone, sms and mobile networking works reliably, apps exist. Just not as many as on Android, and some features are not part of the OS. This is enough for many to declare them “a failure”. That and limited hardware support.
Google has coddled us for way too long, and at what price.
Is that the guy who had sex with his socks on?
I don’t like the phrase “one click” because it’s never really literally only one click, and whenever it’s even close to that there’s just too much stuff going on in the background that a) requires tons of work to code, b) is fragile, c) can never account for all use case etc etc etc
With that in mind I recently installed Debian Stable on my VPS, chose “Web server” during installation, and voilá: it serves!
Calendar and contacts (i.e. CalDAV/CardDAV). A blog. Media is just remote-mounted since all my systems are Linux.
I’m always leery of “one app for all” solutions, or in German, “eierlegende Wollmilchsau”.
Hence, no Nextcloud for me.
Poor couch 😥
One can also have endless arguments about the color turquoise. Is it rather green, or rather blue? Same as teal I guess.
