Apple products aren’t any better than anything else, it’s just marketing and branding. They’re like the Starbucks of computers.
Dusty old bones, full of green dust.

Haven’t had Netflix since the password debacle. Never even missed it. 🏴☠️
CATS
Cats is not a complicated musical. All they had to do was animate it and get actual voice actors/singers. I’ve seen sketches for what I think was a Tim Burton sketch, and that would have been a million times better. I don’t know who looked at Cat’s and was like, “Yup, we need CGI.” It looks horrendous and sounds bad more often than not. The musical is already pretty out there, how much more fun would that movie had been if we had animators working on it. The creative visuals, colors, motifs. Not to mention a cat is a wonderfully complex animal to animate just because of how they move. That movie could have been a visual delight in part with the Spiderman movies if they let it, but noooooo. Let’s make a nightmare.
I had a girl staple her hand by accident, went to the nurse. We spent the next 30 minutes watching the teacher deal with a kid trying to staple himself on purpose so he could leave too.
He did eventually get to leave, but not because of the staple.
I do, but that’s because “now these points of data make a beautiful line, and we’re out of beta, we’re releasing on time.”
“Those bullies will be working at a gas station while you’ll be the boss!”
I’m starting to think this Trump guy doesn’t know what he’s doing. /s
So many dead cats on this table. 😮💨
Echoing “You get used to it.” Right now, I feel like you’re actively having to think of about everything: Getting up, what to wear, where to go, peoples’ names, greetings, what you were doing when you left yesterday, etc., etc. Some of that will soon fall into the background. You won’t have to expend as much mental energy on things. You’ll just know people’s name, you’ll be in a routine, getting to work will be second nature, and what have you.
I remember them. My my imaginary friends were stuff like The Looney Toons (I was really into Space Jam) and Sailor Moon. I remember “Playing with Bugs and Lola” at recess. I had them until around late middle school when I started to make friends here and there. I would think back on them with embarrassment, but now I’m thankful for the “support.”
A swimming pool. I love swimming, but I don’t have the courage to swim in public. I was able to rent a pool by myself a few times and had an absolute blast.
Kunitsu-Gami. Never heard of it before, never even saw an add, just popped up on the storefront one day. I fucking loved that game.
Also, PSP. My friend at the time was able to “adjust” it and I love/loved it.
This was a few years back, before I knew this was even possible, but a portable hard drive off of Amazon. Not only was it sharp on all edges, it was only programed to show the storage without actually having it. I spent an evening “moving” docs from a dying laptop, only to plug it in the next day two find a fraction of what I thought I moved over.
Also, a yoga mat that disintegrated when I went to do a plank. Just pressing my hands into it was enough for it to flake apart.
As someone who gets mistaken for a man: Yes. I clear my throat, shuffle my feet, make some kind of noise. If it’s a headphone wearer, I’m either going to slow down to make space or give them a wide berth if it can’t be avoided.
Yes! But it’s because our situations are very different. I don’t have a child, but I was already a preteen when my mom was this age. I didn’t have a deadbeat, abusive, drug addicted, , money draining spouse. I’ve cut off people (family) that I saw take advantage of my mother growing up. I don’t have a sibling who is a manipulative, selfish, lazy, money grubbing piece of shit. Fuck, I don’t have a daughter (me) that I’ve had to help for years while she tried to get on her feet.
I also have a wonderful mother who did what she could to set me up for success, trying to correct the mistakes of her childhood. My great aunt left me some money that helped with school (I’m still in debt, but could have been way worse). I have a good friend that talks me out of reckless shit, not egging me on to take advtage.
I’m also less social, so I’m not going out to lunch or parties and what have you. I live alone with one cat.
TL;DR: Yes, but is because I have less responbilities than my mother had at this age, and it’s cheaper living a solitary lifestyle with one kitty cat.
I would be much more embarrassed having a potent punani than buying products. 🤷🏿♀️
A main character who can do no wrong. They’re the best, prettiest, most important person. Rarely has flaws, or flaws that are actually “cool.” Like, the lead in many YA novels.
Or Batman, or Harry potter, or Tony Stark, or Kirito… There are so many! But those aren’t a problem for some reason. 🤔
Why is it gender stuff when it’s women but not men? Men and their gender is apart of their movies too, you just may not see it, like how a fish doesn’t see water. Take how a film is shot, how women and men are framed. You may not notice the camera assuming a het-male’s perspective by “eyeing” women a certain way because “that’s just house films are shot.” You may not go into a horror movie with the silent prayer that the male lead doesn’t get raped because that can just be thrown in there. You may not notice if every woman looks a certain way, and how no matter how old the actor gets, the female lead is still 25. Even in movies where it doesn’t even matter. You make not notice when a woman only gets to speak to and about men. You may not notice that one woman is usually tossed in to represent the entire female demographic because “they’re not the focus.”
But all those little details add up. Women have had men’s gender and their ideas and values soak into almost every part of society, even to how they value themselves. Men are not the default, and that means that they will have to go into some media knowing that they are not the main target and be okay with that.
Yes. Even with extra withdraws, I always owe. So it’s more of an annoyance. Not to mention I don’t like how my tax dollars are being used. If the US wasn’t such a dumpster fire, I might feel differently.
