I actually continued to use a 3rd party app up until a few months ago. I created a Lemmy account when all that happened 2 years ago, but I didn’t use it much. Glad to see it’s been improved, well until recently finding out the creators of Lemmy support Russia.

Todays “AI” is just machine learning code. It’s been around for decades and does a lot of good. It’s most often used for predictive analytics and used to facilitate patient flow in healthcare and understand volumes of data fast to provide assistance to providers, case manager, and social workers. Also used in other industries that receive little attention.

Even some language learning machines can do good, it’s the shitty people that use it for shitty purposes that ruin it.

I actually had a Windows phone around 2011-ish. It had some pretty cool features and was a Nokia.

Google already made AR glasses and they failed. Not because the product was bad, but because AR is stupid and has such a niche case that it’s practically worthless.

Also AI is a buzzword. Before it was called Machine Learning (ML) and has been in use for the past two decades.

I used to use Google shopping to find certain items and compare websites. Now the entire left side that used to be a filter list is replaced. When you click a “filter” option it just adds text to the search bar. Then it will include an essay about why these are your options for something and recommend top brands, but then just list everything.

I hate people that say, “I don’t care about politics, it doesn’t impact my life.”
