Porcupines cannot throw their quills. Quills are modified hairs that are loosely attached. What they can do is bristle, raising the quills away from their body and making it more likely for the pointy bits to find a target. They can also slap with their tail, which also has quills.
Good news: where I live we don’t build our houses out of paper and spit and I’d find it very entertaining to see a critter eat through a solid 40 cm of bricks and mortar.
Don’t feed the animals. Especially porcupines, they’ll eat a hole in the side of your house to get at the food
