Google's AI Overviews feature for search results is under scrutiny after users reported incorrect or dubious advice from its AI-generated summaries.

Where this came from is commercials would add glue to the cheese to get the “cheese pull” effect for the camera.

I am not a bot. Probably.

      According to Mastodon:

The Google AI isn’t hallucinating about glue in pizza, it’s just over indexing an 11 year old Reddit post by a dude named fucksmith.

Look at that comment yo upvote ratio. A human user could easily tell just from that the advice is questionable, but the machine thinks it’s a highly engaging comment and values it more than a highly upvoted comment with no discussion under it.
