I don’t think I have a problem with a bunch of soldiers going to a voluntary worship service, regardless of the religion it is for.

I certainly wouldn’t have a problem if this was a bunch of Muslim soldiers worshipping Allah, so I don’t know why I should have a problem with this?

Sure, but it seems like people here might have a selective problem with one of them too, just in the opposite direction. Not sure if you’ve read some of the other comments.

I’m just saying we should probably not have a problem with either. Neither is doing anything wrong or bad.

We should absolutely call out when the media freaks out about a Muslim worship service. But that’s not a good reason to freak out about a Christian worship service.

Commenters yes but the original poster also didn’t say that they just pointed out the double standard. I don’t see anyone freaking out when media does it their “normal” way around this is just pointing out the double standard.

Sure, and while I realize that I posted this as a top comment, it was after reading a dozen other comments on this post, so it was more in response to the general sentiment I was seeing.

I didn’t feel the need to respond individually to 20 people when it seemed like the overwhelming majority opinion, so I just made a top level comment.

I can see how that could be confusing though.

I didn’t interpret this as saying a group of Christian soldiers praying together is bad necessarily, just that a lot of Americans would see a picture of Muslim soldiers praying and say they were religious extremists but be fine with this, pointing out the double standard
