I would say higher quality content in that the comments are pertinent and not just jokes. Sometimes I’d spend a couple of minutes reading nonsense on Reddit before realizing, then I’d try to scroll way down for a fresh comment thread, then just give up on the post

I agree with everything you said about Priory, and would add that the sex scenes were maybe the most badly written to the point it was painful. I almost never give up on a book even when I should, but I had to leave this one unfinished. And I’ve finally stopped seeing the cover of the second one and thinking ooh what’s this? Before I realize it’s nothing I want to read. I liked How to Lose the Time War pretty well and will check out your other recommendations!

I really loved the Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin, and have been wanting to reread them, which I don’t do with many books, plus read her other stuff.

Also, it’s fantasy not sci-fi but I’m currently reading Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse and liking it so far.
