Huawei is not the Android phone other than Samsung.
Huawei is not the Android phone other than Samsung.
Exactly what happened with Indonesian release of Huawei.
Also, more ads everywhere. Even your lock screen.
Some Chinese phone release outside China also began to de-googled as well. At least that’s the case for Huawei in Indonesia.
OpenShot for basic editing Kdenlive for more advance video production
Not everything is under hashtag. Most of artist I follow never put hashtag. Hashtag also not useful in multilanguage situation, where a hashtag can mean different think between communities and languages.
Some people want to make social media account to browse illustration or photography.
Unfortunately, that’s not doable on fediverse. You follow anyone, and suddenly your feed filled with content that you are not interested in. Example: your favourite artist also post a lot of game screenshoot, but you’re not interested in the games. You just want to see the illustration.
Misskey, as most of East Asian and SEA community are on there.
…and some Linux users do professional art/design for living.
Having Krita as basic image editing is doable. However, if you actually use them professionally, you’ll realize that Krita is definitely not alternative to those.
Krita is a first-class painting software, and even its current development is more closer to be Clip Studio Paint alternative, like having comic layer, webtoon layout, etc. The dev regularly observate Clip Studio Paint development.
Affinity Photo is actually easier to use than any alternative, including Photoshop and even GIMP. Its base system also much more faster than Photoshop, GIMP, and even Krita.
Obsidian is not actually open source, but its open source alternative, Logseq has canvas as well!
Any social media technically host the same variation of people. It can be good or bad depends of your social circle and what kind of people you follow. Even fediverse has its own bubble of hostile people.
Not as comprehensive as Facebook Groups.
Facebook strength is having big community from Asia and Africa. While fediverse is mostly Westerner (and isolated Japanese). Unless people from those continents move here in huge wave, I don’t think Facebook will get replaced.
Mastodon is not valid recommendation for them, as these people doesn’t even use Twitter or even hates them.
…and Facebook Groups.
A lot of people simply don’t realize that a lot of traditional community, especially more niche are moving to Facebook. There’s no even Reddit alternative for them.
From fried chicken cooking, big tree photography, McDonalds toys collector, to local history archiver.
It’s harder to convince them here, unless there are Facebook Group alternative for fediverse.
Even if people know fediverse, if the content they want doesn’t exist here, they won’t stay.
There are Japanese Twitter refugee to fedi (especially Misskey) several times. A lot of big creator doesn’t stay as they want to get the highest number of engagement to keep their (art) business afloat.
Give us good yuri manga recommendation 👀
The chances are some new foundation/non-profit will be created to fund its development.
It’s either gonna be great like other community-oriented project (like FreeCAD, Blender, or KDE), or corporate-centric that prioritize industry needs (O3DE, OvertureMaps).
Though, there’s Servo and Libweb as potential future replacement. Servo is managed by Linux Foundation Europe. Libweb is managed by Ladybird Browser Initiative and so far have structure like other community FOSS project, like Blender or Godot.
Misskey is like “the default” fediverse software for Japanese and (Asian) ACG (Animation-comic-games) communities.
This side of fediverse is relatively big, but almost their community rarely reach out Western fediverse mostly due to language and law-related stuff. They have unique photography, online comic market, and and various creative centric community that rarely found on mainstream Western fediverse.
In fact, before Mastodon.social, the biggest fediverse instance is Japanese – Pawoo.net. At that time, it was managed by Pixiv (Japanese equivalent of DeviantArt), but later sold to random corpo, the moderation collapse, and now abandoned by its community.
Those stuff doesn’t even seem remotely same tho, different type of design style.
All kawaii FOSS logos are common Akiba-kei moe logo style.
As far as I know, those stuff only available in African countries and India. Not Indonesia.
A well-mapped area on OpenStreetMap has much more details than Google Maps.
OSM allows more data point that’s not accepted on Google Maps. Like people have been mapping farm and its crops type, flowerbed, road accessible for blind people, or row of trees.
Not to forget, Google Maps also have a lot of faulty data.
