I am, my spelling and grammar are rusty as hell, so I’m here to practice. I’ve found that people are too nice to correct my mistakes (which I make a ton of), so I usually catch them myself re-reading my comments :s.
I followed futbol 𖦹°ᯓ⚽ ( european leagues and international tounaments mostly), for close to 15 years. (Mid 2000’s till the pandemic)
The biggest ones for me were:
Time sink.- Games are long, I get restless now. Also, too many hours a week spent watching tv.
Keeping track of too much info- It stopped being fun when I had no one esle to discuss it with in a casual way.
I’ve always pirated futbol so ease of access was never an issue for me, but looking for sources is also kind of a chore.
Social media.- there’s always been big scandals in sports, but now we get to know too much about the players / others themselves: this guy is a racist, this one a wife beater, or a rapist, etc. (and look, no consequences!). It was easier back then to just focus on the games. I find it hard to enjoy a match when I know the quality some of the people involved.
There’s also the corruption, the lack of ethics (like Qatar building the world cup infrastructure with slave labor)… Sigh
When the world cup was on, I used to sit through all the games I could, even had them on the background while at work. Now, I’m not really excited for next one, even though it’s the last thing that I still followed.
I might watch some games, but I don’t feel passionate about the sport any more.
Hanging out behind the club on the weekends, Acting stupid, getting drunk with my best friends. I couldn’t wait for the summer and the Warped Tour, I remember it’s the first time that I saw her there…

Right about Lasiocyano! I forget the name changes haaa… Hum my V. Chromatus is a weirdo so I like her a lot, but they all are pretty cool in their own way. You have some sweet species as well… I’m fine with easy new world T’s. Low mantainance, aand I get to see them most of the time!

And to clarify, self promo is ok! My complaint is about the ones who wouldn’t even see this post (or any other post for the matter), much less reply to it. They just take up space and do not give anything of value back. Imo. As the fediverse grows it’s bound to happen, it just pisses me off.
Not inflammatory, but I’ve noticed some new users who come only to do self promotion, without engaging in anyting else in the platform. Mostly in art related comms but also a couple trying to promote a shady website or the like. Even though my account is new I’ve been browsing for a good while and dislike people that are only looking for an audience not a community.

We are building something nice here. ;) It’s very welcoming. For most of my online life I’ve been just a lurker, here I feel like my presence needs to add something of value, even if small.
