Mouse wheel scrolling skips every third scroll

I’m running Fedora Kinoite 40, having switched over from Onyx through a rebase. On Onyx I was using X11, which worked just fine. Kinoite instead uses Wayland by default, which causes some issues with the scroll wheel. On most apps it works fine, however on Firefox (using Wayland directly) it seems to skip every third scroll. I have attached a screenshot below, on the top is the output of libinput debug-events and on the bottom is the output of wev. As you can see from the libinput output, I...

Not sure if relevant but I’ve noticed in Hunt: Showdown I keep going too far in an item selector, but only when scrolling downwards. However it doesn’t happen outside of games (Xwayland issue?)

This was happening to me on X11 when Plasma 6 released. It got fixed on the next patch.

So does it not happen on X11?

Other than that, i have to clean my scrollwheel sensor once in a while, not because i’m disgusting, but because my current mouse has this issue, otherwise i get a similar experience as yours

It’s very consistent in my case though, it happens all the time on some apps. Hopefully someone will fix it lol

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
